Transport
Pupils attending Elms School have an Education and Health Care Plan, reflecting their complex needs, which include: SEMH, ASD, MLD, PTSD, ADHD, ODD, FASD, OCD, attachment difficulties, personality disorders and specific learning difficulties. Their main identified need type is either SEMH or ASD. The school serves a wide catchment area; children come from Dover, Deal, Folkestone, Ashford, Thanet, Canterbury, Romney Marsh and neighbouring villages. Most pupils are entitled to free transport and parents can apply for this here:
Our Transport Manager, Lorraine Balcombe and her team of drivers and escorts transport our pupils to and from school in one of our 9-seater MPVs. All transport staff are trained in Safeguarding pupils and Team Teach, our behaviour management approach.
